LMS Edition (SCORM 1.2)

$1,100.00

Any game, in your own LMS. One organisation, unlimited learners, completion and score tracked. $1,100 per game.

Description

Any of the games, loaded into your own learning management system and tracked like every other module you run. Your learners play it. Your LMS records who started, who finished, their score and how long they spent. Nobody has to book a room.

One organisation. Unlimited learners. Perpetual. $1,100 per game, GST included. Choose the game above.

Every game is free to play on this site. Play the one you want before you buy it. The LMS Edition is the same game with tracking added, packaged so your LMS can report on it.

Which game

  • Cause Unknown (ten editions: General, Mining, Psychosocial, Construction, Onshore, Offshore, Transport, Agriculture, Power, Rail). Investigate a serious incident against a time budget. Gather evidence, test the bowtie barriers, build a five whys chain, sign a finding. The debrief scores the investigation and shows how much of the finding landed on the individual instead of the system. Four cases per edition. Allow 20 to 30 minutes a case.
  • The Authority Gap. A safety advisor’s career in five acts, from Built to Blame. Your choices set your position. The dice decide what the organisation does around you. Allow 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Continuous Improvement. One year inside a Registered Training Organisation. Get through it without a formal complaint while chasing Training Organisation of the Year, with an ASQA performance assessment coming at a time you don’t choose. Allow 30 to 45 minutes.
  • The Standard. Fourteen decisions on a road job, and a choice every time about what goes on the record. Then someone is killed, and you can defend yourself only with what you wrote at the time. Allow about 30 minutes.

What your LMS records

  • Status: incomplete from the first launch, completed when the learner reaches the end screen (the debrief, the final finding, the end-of-year result or the hearing).
  • Score out of 100, taken from the game’s own scoring. The best attempt counts.
  • Time spent in every session.
  • A history of every finished run, including the case code for Cause Unknown, so you can see which cases each learner played and how the score moved.

The package reports completed, never passed or failed. A low score in these games is the lesson, not a failure. If your organisation needs a pass mark, set it in your LMS.

How you install it

  1. Buy the game you want. The download appears straight away in your order email and under My account, Downloads.
  2. In your LMS, add new content and choose SCORM package (it may be called e-learning module, online course or content package).
  3. Upload the -scorm12.zip file exactly as it downloaded. Don’t unzip it.
  4. Set completion to completed, not passed.
  5. Launch it once as a test learner, finish a run, and check that the LMS shows Completed with a score. Then enrol your people.

That is ten minutes for anyone who has loaded a SCORM module before. The installation guide has step-by-step settings for Moodle and Totara, recommended settings for every LMS, course page text you can paste in, and a troubleshooting table. Read the full guide before you buy (PDF).

Will it work in our LMS?

If your LMS takes SCORM 1.2, yes. That covers Moodle, Totara, Cornerstone, SAP SuccessFactors, Docebo, TalentLMS, LearnUpon, Absorb, iSpring Learn, Canvas through its SCORM tool, and nearly every RTO student management system. Every package was tested by playing it through to the end inside a SCORM 1.2 test harness and confirming the completion, score and time were written back.

  • Runs in any current browser, on desktop, tablet or phone. No plugins.
  • Needs internet access for its typefaces from Google Fonts. If those are blocked, it still works in plain fonts.
  • Sends nothing outside your LMS. No analytics, no cookies, no calls back to this site.
  • If your LMS only takes SCORM 2004 or xAPI, ask before you buy.

What is in the download

  • The SCORM 1.2 package for your game
  • The installation and administration guide (PDF)
  • The licence (PDF)

Updated versions are free to download for twelve months.

The licence in brief

One organisation, the one named on the order. Unlimited learners who are your workers: employees, contractors, labour hire and volunteers. Host it on as many LMSs as you control, for as long as you like. You may not put it on a client’s or customer’s LMS, resell it, or use it to train other organisations for a fee. That needs a commercial licence, so ask. Read the licence terms (PDF).

LMS Edition, Facilitator Kit or Site Licence?

  • LMS Edition: self-paced, tracked in your LMS, unlimited learners. No answer keys and no facilitation material. $1,100 per game.
  • Facilitator Kit: for running the game in a room. Answer keys, evidence cards, worked examples, debrief script. $340 per game. Cause Unknown, The Authority Gap, Continuous Improvement.
  • Cause Unknown In-house Site Licence: the kit for four named facilitators across every site, with LMS hosting included. The general edition site licence now includes this SCORM package. $1,800.

The strongest use is both: learners play it in the LMS first, then a facilitator runs the debrief in a room with the people who signed the worst findings.
